Isaiah 42-44
*Click here to read this passage:
Isaiah 42:7 is what I want my life and my
family to be all about and to be used by God for: “to open eyes that are blind,
to free captives from prison, and to release from the dungeon those who sit in
darkness.” My husband and I feel a
special calling from God to impact the nations, specifically those nations who
are surrounded by darkness and blind to the Truth about Jesus.
Knowing what God wants you to do is
sometimes hard to figure out, and sometimes it is as clear as can be, but what
is hard is actually doing what He wants you to do. That is why I love and cling to the promise found in Isaiah
43:
“Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have summoned you by name; you are
mine.
When you pass through the waters, I will
be with you;
And when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire, you will
not be burned;
The flames will not set you ablaze.
For I am the Lord, your God…your Savior.”
There have been several people around me who have recently been going through some very real hardships. Thinking about them today and praying
they would have strength and faith in Him, knowing that even though they are
walking in the midst of something terrible and scary, He is there and will
bring them through this time.
“When you call us to the fire, You will
not withdraw Your hand. We’ll gaze
into the flame and look for You.” (“If You Say Go” – Vineyard Worship)
