Isaiah 33-35
*Click here to read this passage:
The Israelites in the time of Isaiah were
not doing a great job of looking to God.
They kept trying to do everything on their own, or they would look to
other nations to form alliances with to receive help and strength. As I’ve been reading through the book
of Isaiah I feel like God keeps reminding His people through the prophet Isaiah
to just stop what they are doing and look to Him. Isaiah said in previous chapters, blessed are those who wait
on Him and woe to those who make their own plans and look to others for
help.
The lyrics from a Chris Tomlin song keep coming to mind:
“And if our God is for us, then who could
ever stop us?
And if our God is with us, then what
could stand against?”
“O Lord, be gracious to us; we long for
you. Be our strength every
morning, our salvation in time of distress.” (33:2)
