Job 11-14
*Click here to read this passage:
I love the realness in Job’s words, the raw vulnerability he does
not try to hide. He questions God
why this is happening to him. He
wishes he could just die. On top
of all his suffering he has to deal with his friends accusing him of sinning to
cause it all, which he knows is not true.
These few words from Job, however, rise above all the others and
show the depth of his faith:
“Yet will I hope in Him.”
Job knew of God’s sovereignty. He says that even animals, birds, fish, and the earth itself
know they come from the hand of God.
“In His hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all
mankind.”
No matter what the situation, no matter how hopeless something
might seem, in the hands of Sovereign God there is hope.
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust
in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 15:13)
