**As we are finishing up the book of Jeremiah this week, it will only be a 5-day week for the reading plan. If you could share a reflection or something God has been teaching you lately, I would love to post some as our Day 6 this week! Just email me at ejmushlock@gmail.com **
*Click here to read this passage:
“Do not fear, O Jacob … I will surely save you out of
a distant place”
“Do not fear, O Jacob … I am with you”
“I will not completely destroy you. I will discipline you but only with justice”
“I will not completely destroy you. I will discipline you but only with justice”
Always the promise … in the midst of chaos … even in
the midst of deliberate defiance – He always keeps reminding them of His
promise and that He will not forget it.
It says in Jeremiah 44:10 of the Jews living in Egypt
at the time, “To this day, there’s not a trace of remorse, not a sign of
reverence, nobody caring about living by what I tell them or following my
instructions that I’ve set out so plainly before you and your parents!”
Because of this they were still being punished and
experiencing God’s wrath, but the promise never disappeared. If only they would have stopped running
away from God and embrace the promise He had for them.
If only we would stop running away from God and
embrace the promises He has for us …
